On Tuesday, September 3, CCB hosted its 2024 Undergraduate Teaching Program awards ceremony to honor Teaching Fellows and Course Assistants for the vital role they played in shaping the chemistry educational experience at Harvard. The event included presentations from CCB instructors about learning techniques and teaching practices, followed by a reception in the Bauer Lobby and Courtyard.
Teaching Fellows (TFs) and Course Assistants (CAs, previously known as Peer Study Leaders) play essential roles in teaching and mentoring the next generation of chemistry students at Harvard. To support all TFs and CAs across the department, CCB launched the Undergraduate Teaching Program (UTP) in 2023.
The CCB Certificate of Distinction in Teaching recognized TFs and CAs who made special contributions to the teaching of Chemistry at Harvard College. To be eligible for the award, candidates demonstrated a commitment to teaching by exhibiting exemplary engagement and communication, and earn an average student evaluation score of 4.5 or above.
A full list of award winners can be found in the awards ceremony booklet.
